Set up your master password
The password that encrypts your saved credentials — where you create it, and why it works differently from your account password.
Your master password is what encrypts login credentials you attach to saved items. It is not your account sign-in password, and it is not a folder vault password — see "What the Vault is" for how those three differ.
Requirements
At least 8 characters, including an uppercase letter and a number.
What happens when you set it
Trezio generates a random salt and encrypts a known piece of verification text with your password, storing only that — never the password itself. Every later unlock attempt tries to decrypt that verification text with whatever you type: success means the password was right, failure means it was not. There is nothing to compare your password against directly, because your password is never stored anywhere.
Using credentials on the web
Once your master password exists, open any item with a saved credential in the web app and choose Show Credentials. Enter your master password once and it stays unlocked for the rest of your session, so you are not retyping it for every item.
Not your account password
Your master password and your account sign-in password are completely separate. Changing or resetting your account password never affects your master password, and never puts your encrypted credentials at risk.
