Clean links

How it works

How to clean a link

  1. Paste the link

Copy a link from an email, a search result, a social app or a shop, and paste it in. A whole message with several links works too.

  2. See what came off

Each link shows its clean version and the tracking codes that were removed, so you can check nothing important went.

  3. Copy and share

Copy the clean link, the whole message with every link cleaned, or just the links, one per line.

What it removes

What gets cleaned

Clear rules, applied the same way every time. Anything a page needs to show the right thing stays in the link.

FAQ

Questions about cleaning links

What does a link cleaner remove?

The extra codes that sites and ad platforms add to links to track who clicked and where they came from: utm_source and the other utm_ codes, fbclid from Facebook, gclid from Google Ads, msclkid from Microsoft, and site-specific ones such as YouTube's si code. The page the link opens stays the same.

Will the cleaned link still work?

Yes. Only tracking codes are removed. Parts a page needs, like a YouTube video ID, a timestamp, a search query or a page number, are kept. If a site still misbehaves, turn off “Remove all parameters” if it is on, or use the original link.

How do I remove the si code from a YouTube link?

Paste the YouTube link here. The si, pp and feature codes are removed and the video ID and any timestamp are kept, so youtu.be/VIDEO?si=… becomes youtu.be/VIDEO.

How do I shorten an Amazon link?

Paste the product link. Everything except the product ID is removed, so a long link full of ref and search codes becomes amazon.com/dp/ followed by the 10-character product ID. Affiliate tags are removed too.

What is a redirect link and why unwrap it?

Google results, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Slack and Outlook's Safe Links often wrap the real address inside their own link, so the click passes through them first. Unwrapping gives you the real address, which is shorter and opens directly.

Are my links uploaded or opened?

No. Cleaning happens in your browser by reading the text of each link, so links are never sent to Trezio or anyone else and the page never visits them. Your last input is kept in this browser's local storage so a refresh doesn't wipe it; press Clear to remove it.

How is this different from Trezio?

This tool cleans links and forgets them. Trezio is where links live afterwards: save them in one second from the browser extension, organize them with folders and tags, and find them again with search. There's a free plan.
